can cutout cookies be baked then frozen and taken out at a later time to be decorated with royal icing
thanks daytona
Absolutely! Package well, as airtight as possible, and freeze for several months. I've never frozen them that long but they say you can.
I freeze them all the time, and I haven't ever noticed a difference in flavor or texture as a result. As twinsmake5 mentioned, package them well. I place mine in ziplock freezer bags, suck out the air, then place in tupperware containers. (The containers are just to ensure that the cookies don't get crushed by other items in the freezer. My kids and hubbie don't always look before dumping in stuff!).
Thank you so much for your help I am having a demostration and I love to make all kinds of deserts but as usual I go a little crazy and run out of time was hoping I could freeze cutouts and then decorate them later
