Hey wonderbunlady! Missed you at the DOS....
They really are not hard to do. You just take your layer cake and carve it a bit if need be, cover in fondant and go from there! The little pcs like the buckles, ect I made from gp and painted with hi-liter dusts. I used a stitch wheel to put some stitch like accents on the straps, ect.
HTH!

Jen,
Do you put the cakes on a cake board, cover with fondant then tranfer it to the main board and then do your detail work from there?
If it is a carved cake, I carve then transfer to the fondant covered board. When I'm doing a normal wedding cake, I put the cake on a foil covered board (same size as cake) then put that on my fondant covered board. I do my fondant boards a few days in advance so they can firm up.
HTH!
