Hi ladies, I just made my first water effect on a cake using clear piping gel on top of blue icing, it looks nice but I honestly hate the taste of the piping gel, is there anything I can do to make this taste better? or perhaps a different technique for water?

I posted a thread a while back on how to make ice (similar I would think). I got suggestions for using clear hard candy and pour in a mold or in the shape you want, wait for it to dry, then attach to cake. Also, I got a suggestion of using gelatin.
