Some one told me they love the pumkin spice coffee at Starbuck's. I'd like to come up with a coffee/pumpkin spice flavor cuppy.

My thoughts - take a pumpkin cuppy recipe or cake recipe (there is one on central which uses box and adds pumpkin puree and pumpkin spices), replace liquid part with strong coffee and add some coffee flavoring. Don't know if this works since I don't know which one is stronger in the starbucks coffee. I guess you'll have to play with the amount of flavoring and spices to get it.

I'll have to go get one and taste it. $2.50 a cup--better be really good! icon_biggrin.gif Maybe I'll be able to figure it out as far as how spicy and that. I still have some pumpkin spice pudding mix and they've come out with the pumpkin spice creamer now.

We were all looking for some Fall tasting cupcakes the other day. I looked at one of my books and found some interesting ones. The book is 125best Cupcake recipes by Julie Hasson She has recipes for ;
Maple Raisin, Spice ,Zucchini Chocolate Spice, Spiced Peach, and Applesauce.
All sound good to me.
Off the subject ( like I never go there lol ) I was doing some " web wandering " the other night and found the CUTEST template for a cookie box. It's for a 4" cookie pizza! The cookie idea could be adapted using a vanilla wafer on top of of a cupcake
www.KarensCookies.net Search for 5"box template.

Pat, I have that book. I'll have to look through it. I know one book I have, not sure if that is it, only uses butter but some times I just get ideas from it. I just don't use butter in my cuppy's. I think banana is the only recipe where I don't use oil.

Hello mad-house-mum!

We had fresh blackberries at our previous home- but now have a shady yard, so no more berries 'cept from the market. But here is my favorite cake- I have made cupcakes with it successfully thumbs_up.gif

Actually this is one of my all time favorite cakes- the mix of flavors is just right. (I am normally not crazy about spice cakes).

I got a response from them. They have more molds in now. Of course, I'm broke until next month, but they have them if I want them. Isn't that just the way life goes sometimes?

By the way, gang, I'm in the Upscale Cupcakes class this week with Toba Garrett. We made our cupcakes and our icings today, made some royal icing flowers and marzipan for decorations. Tomorrow is assembly day.
I'll take pics and post them within the next couple of days.

Going through my e-mails. I just got this today - it's a school bus cupcake cake.

How cool is that?

No, I live in eastern PA and commute to NYC when I take classes. She teaches out of the Institute of Culinary Education, when not traveling to teach.

Fiddlesticks, The strangest thing happened to me tonight. I saw that the chocolate cupcake swirl mold was back in stock at the site you sent us to. I ordered it ( plus a few more, of course ) Did my Pay Pay thing, back clicked to get back to this site.....and SOMEHOW I ended at a chocolate thread. It is up to 50 something. I don't know what I did...how I got there, but I'm delighted. I clicked to keep watching. Now I have to read 50 some pages to catch up! Thank you for sending me to the mold site...that magically sent me to the chocolate site. I love doing things with candy. I'll submit some pictures some day ( when that mis......son shows me how ) Great day on the computer. Now if the AGE FAIRY would just tap me on the head to make me 10 years younger, it would be a perfect day! LOL

Oh my, can't believe this is up to over 700 pages! I can't go through them all right now, but wondering if anyone has ever had this problem. My cupcake papers are pulling away. I made 65 cupcakes and some pulled away and some didn't; same recipe, same pan. Any suggestions? It was a butter yellow recipe if that matters.

I don't know if it was on this thread or another, but someone posted a link to a Swedish site or a site in Finland on some cupcakes with fondant and gumpaste flowers. Really really pretty cupcakes.

I hope someone knows what I'm talking about .

GrandmaG, I didn't ignore your question, I just couldn't answer until I got the molds. When I saw the pictures of the cupcakes ( I thought that's what they were ) I thought they were mini cupcake sized. Went ahead and ordered without reading about size. When I received the molds...they are tiney tiny chocolate candy cupcake molds. Not what I thought, but adorable just the same.
Is everyone still thinking about fall cupcake ideas? This weeks Woman's World has a cupcake made with apple cider. It's shaped like an apple on the top. Very cute.
sweettreasures, I know just what you are talking about. It was posted here. I wish I could tell you just where.

Hi Pat ,Sorry I stopped getting notices again, Yes what I had posted on the chocolate thread was chocolate candies that looked like cupcakes! They were not cupcakes as in real cupcakes! They were candy cupcakes, they can also be filled in the center to make them into truffles! That link I posted should have taken you to candy cupcake molds.Thats why I called them candy cupcakes.Sorry if you thought they were real cupcake molds of some sort.I think they make wonderful truffles!

Fiddlesticks, No need to apologize for my stupidity. I love that I screwed up everything and ended up at that site. I was more than happy to get the molds. Your beautiful pictures did look like mini cupcakes. ( my dumb! ) I love the tea cup and saucer mold I also got. Placed on the top of a cupcake, filled with the same ingredient as the center of the cupcake seems like a fun idea.
Cute FREE cupcake box pattern at this site.

I posted this on the gourmet thread also but I was really frustrated baking last night! All my cupcakes were shrinking yesterday. I switched from sour cream to yogurt and that helped some. I tried a couple of different recipes without sourcream or yogurt and they were a little better. Maybe too much fat in the recipe because my vegan cupcakes turned out good. The air pressure was dropping like crazy yesterday. We went from temperature of 73 to a high of 40 today. I wonder if air pressure affects baking?

Wow! GrandmaG, thats to bad you had so many problems!
I hate when what can be an enjoyable day turns into problems!
I really dont have an answer for you other then I do believe that weather can affect just about all the different things in baking. At least thats what I blame my problems on when something like that happens and there is NO difference in what Im doing from every other time I did it !

Mmmm a lot of these recipes sound awesome! Now I need to go clean up my kitchen and starting heating up the oven!

Someone mentioned a couple of pages back that they use baking powder instead of baking soda...anyone a chem geek on here? Is the reason it works because bp only has half the leavening power of bs, or the addition of the cream of tartar?

I'm curious because my buttermilk cake recipe always seems to fall, and I'd love to correct the problem.

I'm not sure who posted that. I've been trying to figure out the chemistry of cake baking for a long time and I'm still confused.

Anyone have a recipe for caramel apple cupcakes? I didn't see one in the recipe files but I could have over looked it.
