Is there a way I can stick chocolate decorations (poker chips) to the sides of a (MMF) fondant-covered cake?

Or should I just make the chips out of gumpaste?

And then do I stick them on with buttercream or RI?

Thanks to anyone who can help--I've searched high and low on the internet while CC was down.

You could attach either chocolate orGP decorations with melted chocolate or RI, BC might even work if they're not too heavy.
