Hi Y'all!!
As many will likely remember in various threads I related the story of the woman whom I had a wedding consultation with last Fall who wanted "a 6 foot 
wedding cake and I don't want to pay for it..." 
Well guess who called today!!! 
She called me today and asked me if I could still do the cake, and before I committed I asked her if she still wanted a 6 foot cake 
because if she did, all the rules change at that point. She laughed and said no, her daughter was in town over the holidays and picked out a simple 4 tiered cake design with fresh flowers on top, stating "it's only a cake, Mom". 
In light of that news, I accepted. She told me that she would mail me a picture of the cake and at our next consultation she would give me a (nonrefundable) deposit (which goes toward the final price of her cake.) This reserves the date for her.
Honestly! You just never know in this business! I was not at all impressed with her going in and was offended at her cheapness and quite frankly thought she was a bit weird. But what I think happened is (what I told her would happen) she shopped my prices all over town and found out that I was INDEED her best friend!!! 
Oh well. Go figure! The wedding is next September and I'll post pix when I'm done... 
daltonam... I am in Ohio - but I couldn't be happier for the Gators!! I went to high school with Urban and I wanted to see him win the championship! It is soooooo cool to think that someone from the small little high school we went to - can accomplish such great things!!

I haven't sold cakes (made them for free) but catering jobs go the same way...
People want the stops pulled out for weiner prices...
