I want to use a yellow cake mix, but I'm not sure sure how many whole eggs to use in place of the egg whites? Also, what flavorings do you add when using a yellow cake mix? I'm really excited about trying this recipe and I don't want to mess it up!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you want it to be almond flavored or do you want to try something totally different? You can make it the same as the original recipe calls for (even using only the egg whites and not whole eggs) but just substiture yellow cake mix instead of white. I'm not sure what you want the end result to be...

Egg whites are used in white cake for the simple reason that yolks turn a white cake yellow. For every other flavor, use 3 whole eggs in place of the 4 egg whites. As for flavoring, definitely use vanilla. Anything else is at your discretion. I, personally, wouldn't add almond to a yellow cake.

Thanks guys! I'm going to give this a try today. I think I'll go with the vanilla flavoring! I can't wait to taste it!!

Thanks again!!
