not take a picture of a cake because you were completely pleased with it, then realize that it wasn't that bad after it was cut? I just did this twice with my first and second ganache cake
They weren't perfect, but pretty good. Of course everyone at the parties they were for LOVED them. Oh well, next time
No, but on two different occasions, I did Barbie cakes that I could not photograph because my son borrowed my camera, and he left it in his car. Of course, his car was with him at work when time came for the cakes to be picked up!

Actually, I have the opposite problem. I take pics of ALL of my cakes and post them. Then my daughter sees and says, " Uh, Mom? You sure you want THAT pic on the web?" Gotta love the honesty of kids. LOL
I've had cakes that I personally didn't like so I didn't take pix of them. However, for some reason I was looking through my cake photos the other day and low and behold -- I have no pictures of any of my purple cakes! I've done three different purple cakes and I don't know how it happened, but there are no photos to prove it! ![]()
Take pictures anyway . . . you don't have to post them but at least you'll have them. I have had pictures of cake I've done that I wasn't overly happy with but once I've distanced myself from the whole process and my emotional ties to the cake project have lessened, I have been able to go back and look with more objective eyes and have liked them more.
Yes - I have done this several times!
My gallery does not show 1/2 of my cakes since July because of this!
I'm trying to take pics of everything now though (new year's resolution!). Because I think I'll learn from them. Just seeing a cake may make me remember things that I learned while doing it.
PLUS, in a while I can look back and see the progress I've made (hopefully!). ![]()
I take a photo of everything! Sometimes the cakes I hate are the ones customers LOVE! You just never know!!
I also post pretty much all of my cakes....good, bad or otherwise...I am hoping that it will show improvement, but so often with me its 1 step forward, 2 steps back...LOL for every 1 cake I make that turns out as planned I swear there are 4 that do not!
