Blue Gumpaste Roses Help

I have finally taught myself how to make gumpaste roses. Woohoo... But now that I have added color to my gumpaste, they seem to have a cracking look to them. Is this from the dusting i'm putting on the table? How can I fix this? PLEASE HELP!

If the gumpaste is cracking, it is probably becoming too dry. use only the barest minimum when rolling and cutting. Your gumpaste should not need additional cornstarch once you start shaping the petals.

please let me know were can I find mexican paste or if is a recipe to make my own.
