hey everyone just got the wilton 3d bear pan has anyone tried baking without the core before? Just wondering if I bake at lower temp longer if this will still turn out okay.

I never use the heating core in the bear and it turns out just fine--I just bake it longer than the instructions say to. icon_biggrin.gif

I baked my last one without the core and it came out great. I think I baked at 325 degrees and started checking it after an hour or so.....

I don't use the core either. I use the cake mix extender recipe on this site to add an extra cup or so of batter. I've found that if I use just a standard mix (doctored with pudding, milk & extra egg) it doesn't rise all the way up and fill in the feet.
