As some of you may have read recently in another post we accidentally found out my husband is diabetic (no family history and no symptoms). He asked for a stress test even though his doctor said his EKG was great and his blood pressure is low. He pressed them to order one due to family history. The cardiologist kept asking why he was having one done because they couldn't get his blood pressure up even on the treadmill. Well today we got an urgent call and the doctor saying the imagery showed a blockage and an immediate angiogram and possibly a balloon or stint procedure for tomorrow a.m. Keep in mind he had absolutely NO symptoms. Heart disease is truly a silent killer.

Wish us luck.

It is so great that your DH persisted in getting the testing so that you found this problem and it can be fixed.

My thoughts and prayers will definitely be with you. Janice

The same thing happened to my mother. She had an EKG and normal blood pressure. She quit going to that doctor. Went to a doctor that would do the stress test. She was 90% blocked. She had a stint put in a week before Christmas. She is now back on her feet and going strong. She does get pretty exhausted by the end of the day but not as bad as first.

I just got goosebumps. I'm so glad your husband (and your mom juju) demanded more tests! I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers for tomorrow.

You all don't know how much your kind words, thoughts and prayers mean to me right now. We found out my DH needs double by-pass surgery Tuesday a.m. They said he is very close to a heart attack. I want to say that I can't believe how it happened but I can believe. If he had not had the symptoms of diabetes and gone in for a check up for those he would have put off getting the stress test done and would have had a heart attack soon. Evidently there are plans for him that he has not accomplished yet.

My Sister, who lost her son in March, has decided to take her hurt, anger and sadness out on me. I thought that I could cope with it but I feel pretty beaten up right now. In the middle of this day and everything we were going through she wrote me a very hurtful e-mail telling me what a bad person I am and how cruel I am. At the time when I need her the most we have blocked each others e-mail. What a waste. Why am I sharing this with you? I am sharing this with MY friends and baking family. Some of you have been there when I needed a shoulder to cry on or an ear to vent to. I don't think that we will ever realize the benefit of having a site like CC. I do realize though how much I appreciate each and every one of you.

God Bless and Thanks so much.
