I don't know what part of California you are in or if you ever get out to Vegas but they sell them at the Sur La Table store at the Aladdin.
Last time I was in Vegas I bought some at that Sur La Table and brought them home to California!!! I use them proudly, even though you really can't buy them here.
According to the article, it's not that they contain lead, but that a concentrated amount of silver is toxic. Seems retarded to discontinue the sale of the dragrees that get used randomly on sweets and allow the sale of silver leaf that covers vast areas of sweets.
Am I the only one who watched and helped their mother decorate cookies and things with the dragees and ate them by the gobs besides Andrea7's sister?
People tell me all the time, "you ain't right, girl!" I don't believe that the way my brain functions or don't function has anything to do with having eaten dragees.
Maybe, just maybe, this attorney, who filed the initial lawsuit, didn't get to have those little silver balls on his sweets when he was little and he is determined that they will be banished so no one else can enjoy them either! Goof!
Tiggy2- If you're thinking of Mangelsen's, you're right! I live only a few blocks from there. I can spend hours in that store just looking around!
That's the store I'm thinking of and Judy and Linda are so knowledgable when it comes to cake decorating. I'm in there at least once a week. I love taking classes from Judy when she offers something new.
