Hello everyone,, Happy New Year!!!!!

Just a question, I kept asking myself this and now I totally confused myself..So I'm branching out...........

That Wizard of Oz wedding cake (for the color only) that I will be doing...I told the Bride to Be (since she is one of our employees) that I would not charge her for the price of the wedding cake..
However, my question is this,, should I charge her just for the supplies? The cake itself would cost $300.00, so I figure the supplies would be about $100.00. Her cake is going to be a simple style, with not much foo - foo's....but she definitely wants that emerald green......

And one more question,,, should I put a drop of blue mixed in with the emerald green or the forest green color to sorta get that "blue" dimension? I just started to do the color practice thing.......

Thanks.......

Well, I would at least give her a discount, maybe half off at least.

IMHO, I think it wouldn't be out of the question to ask her to pay for the supplies. $100 for a wedding cake is a great bargain. As for the blue color, I have not really gotten into color mixing but I say go for it. I think it will add a great "dimension" to the color.

Yes, I think asking for the cost of supplies would be more than a fair deal. You have a big heart!

When mixing colors, they will sometimes change. I say make a bit now and let it sit out in the air for a couple days and see what color it turns too. You don't want teal!!!! lol

If you do tell her, I would tell her right now. And the only reason I say that is because if you already told you weren't going to charge her for the cake she may be expecting it to be 100% free - even though $100 is not much compared to what she would be paying, it would still be an added expense on her end. (Did that make sense?)

However, I do absolutely agree that charges her for materials is okay to do, if that is what you want to do.
