I was just wondering which pans do you use as far as debth is concerned? My first pan I bought was a 9X3 and I noticed that they don't sell that many 3" debth pans in Michaels or Hobby Lobby. They sell many 2" debth pans though. Also, with a 2" debth pan how many times can you torte it to make it taller?

All my pans are 2" high. I ussually torte the once but you can torte them twice if you are careful.

Good luck!

I use my Wilton 2 in pans that I have had for many years. I usually bake 2 layers, and torte each layer once. I think it makes a perfect height for a layer cake. Sometimes I don't torte at all, and still is a good size in height.

I mostly use the 2" cakes and either do a 2 layer or I torte them, depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

I normally use the 3 inch pan and I tort each layer two times. I have the Agbay slicer so it's very easy to get super thin layers. It looks so nice when cut.
