Some of you many be aware that Australia is experiencing a very bad drought. Well it is 5am New Year's Day and it's raining. Yippee!!!!!!
We have not had rain for quite a long time and everything is just so dry and dusty. Hopefully this will be useful rain that will fall in the catchment areas! May 2007 be a wet one for us, expecially in the farming areas!!!

I understand your excitement. I live in Northern California and we have experienced years where we had drought and water rationing, fires of mammoth proportion. (Some genius horticulturist in the 1800s brought Eucalyptus trees here from Australia, beautiful trees but such a fire source with the gum oils) We were ready to do a rain dance here, when the skies finally opened up it was such a relief. But for us it seems to be feast or famine, last year was a very wet winter and spring, flooding and trees falling like snowflakes. I'm happy for you, and everything will green up overnight with the rain too.

Hi there, hope you got a lot of rain, enough to make a difference in your drought.

Here in Texas we got a great rain on last Friday, enough to move some areas out of "extreme" drought, but not enough to end it completely.

Wishing you more rain very soon. Janice
