Oh man...my buttercream frosting ( half Crisco half butter ) does not match my Wilton cake plates and pillars. They are Bright white my frosting is almost yellow comparatively speaking. I DO NOT want to compromise on my flavor..meaning I won't use all Crisco. So is there any thing to remedy this problem or am I just out of luck! Thanks ~ Rhondie

Easy, add a TEENY TINY AMOUNT of violet coloring to your buttercream. Works like a charm.

You can add white food coloring to your frosting.

Alternatively, you can add a very, very small touch of violet. The violet counteracts the yellow and gives you white. But you have to be very, very sparing with the violet or you'll end up with something not very pretty at all. icon_wink.gif

I've also bought the americolor bright white and added it to the frosting, it really helps.

OPTIONS!!! Thanks. The Violet trick seems impossible, Can't wait to try it! Too late though as the cake is frosted and to be assembled tomorrow. Hopefully the flowers will hide the difference. Thanks again for the advice!

This may be a stupid suggestions but I am going to say it anyway - can you cover the cake plate and pillars with some buttercream icing and decorate it????
