I've never had that happen! Are you spraying the inside of the papers?? What kind of liners are you using??

I have had this happen. The only time was when I did not fill them full enough. There could be anothereason like overcooking also? Also the only time it happened was with silver foil liners.

I too have experienced this with foil liners. I like the look of them better, but they invariably separate when I'm in the decorating process. So, now, if I know I'm going to be handling the cupcakes much, I use the paper ones.

I have the problem with the paper liners more than the silver. Plus, sometimes there is an air pocket on the bottom. I tap the cupcake pan before I put it in the oven and I still get that air pocket on the bottom. What's a girl to do???? lol

I use paper liners also and have this problem. I thought it might be because I kind of "underbake" my cakes/cupcakes....not really underbaked, but not well done either if that makes any sense at all.

I'm so glad that I am not the only one. I always thought that I was doing something wrong. Now I always bake extra cupcakes so that I have enough if the liners come away.

I also had this problem with paper liners. I thought that the cupcakes were really moist (which is good) and thats what was causing it. I just handled them as gentle and as little as possible and they wern't too bad.

As for the air pocket thing. I questioned this a couple weeks ago and all the responses said to bang the pan before baking, so I did tonight to the point my ears were ringing and I still had air bubbles. I guess as long as they taste good then I am happy.

I've only had this problem with the foil liners, never the paper. What I don't like about the paper liners is that you pay extra for the cute designs, and then they can hardly be seen after baking...especially with chocolate cupcakes. I decided to save my money and just buy the plain liners.

I wanted to bump this up because I am really curious about this as well. It doesn't happen to me with cake mix cupcakes, and it doesn't happen with muffins. I haven't made cupcakes from scratch for a long time so I don't know. Maybe it does have something to do with the cupcakes being really moist (which is a catch-22 issue, icon_confused.gif yummy moist/liners falling off)

Hello there, I been in three forums with this same question, I do make a lot of cupcakes and hate to discard many from my batch,

here are my conclusions;

posible causes

1.- humidity in the area you live or in your kithchen
2.- after taking them out of the oven you leave them for a few minutes in the muffin pan, this makes the steam a little and tend to separete
3.- to much handiling them

prevention

1.-If you still remove them quickly from the muffin pan and are separating place a ribbon or decoration
2.- Discard the liner and place a new liner to it
3.- Make more cupcakes lol this is the one I hate!!!

Hope the info helps!!!!!

Happy Baking!!!!
