Hi guys!
I have a recipe that calls for pumpkin pie spice. I found some a couple years ago at a dollar store of all places and now I have used it all up. I went to my normal grocery store today and couldn't find any.
Anyone know what kinds of spices make up "pumpkin pie spice?"
Thanks!
Brandi

I found it at my local grocery store, although it was really hard to find. It was just a little plastic can tucked below the food coloring and extracts.
In most of your normal gorcery stores right now, they probably have a Fall or Holiday display area for all the cooking needs for the holiday dishes. In 3 of my stores, they are shelves and tables by the produce area. Check in this section or on end caps...I am looking for pumpkin pie pudding and that hasnt hit the stores yet, so maybe it and the pumpkin pie spice will come in by Nov 1st....
TH=he spice mixture for what goes in a pumpkin pie is as follows:
4 parts cinnamon
2 parts ground ginger
1 part ground cloves
I believe pumpkin pie spice also has nutmeg in it, which is why I don't use it - I only use nutmeg in savory dishes.
Pampered Chef has amazing Pumpkin Pie spice called Cinnamon Plus. You should be able to order online - I will never use another kind again! The come in a 2.5 oz bottle:
Ingredients: Korintje cinnamon, nutmeg, all-spice, ground orange peel, cloves and ginger.
