How do you dry your gum paste flowers and avoid damage?

P.S. Do you have to make the bud one day and THEN add the petals? Or what? HELP!

you make the bud and let it dry then then the petals and attach with vanilla. Stick them in a block of styro foam and let dry.

If you are making flowers on wire, you can stick the wire in to a piece of styrofoam or florist foam. If not, you can use a piece of soft foam or an apple tray, like the ones that separate the layers of apples in a box - not sure if I am using the right words for it?

It gives the best results to make the cones and let them dry before you ad the petals.

The cones made of gumpaste have to dry fully, or the heavy flower will slide down the wire.

If you use styrofoam rose cones, you get a less heavy rose. NicholasLodge.com has them. You insert a hooked wire with a bit of hot glue, and you can start adding petal right away.
