I am attempting to make a Top hat cake. I saw the directions on How to make a cowboy hat. Which looks great. I am wondering how thick do you roll out the fondant for the brim. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I haven't seen a top hat in a while but I would think they have at least a 1/8 inch thinkness if not a little more.... I hope that helps.

Thank you for the info. I am not experienced at all I just always fake it and it seems to work. I got the fondant rolled out and put it over the cake. Well it did not conform to the cake around the edges. It was very big and it just rippled. I guess I should have just frosted it. It was a big fat disaster and because I was rushed for time I could not fix it. So my friend did not get the cake she wanted. She was a great friend and was understanding. Though I have to say the drying of the brim worked well . Though the funny thing that happened was my dog thought she would eat some of it. Needless to say she had diarrhea.
