How do i lighten up my BC icing? I tried piping letters with tip 3 and it, well, it was bad. really bad. icing EVERYWHERE.

SO,

a) is there an icing that is lighter, more like whipped cream?

b) how do you lighten up buttercream so it is usable for piping?

TIA!

By lightening up I take it you mean thinning it out? I thin mine by adding piping gel to it. It will thin it out smoothly and I find it is less likely to break.

Whipping it more? Or try adding some whipping cream instead of water. HTH.

You can thin it out by adding a small amount of whatever liquid you used to make it until you have a lighter consistency or you can add piping gel to it, in a small amount until you have the right consistency.
