any advice on how to use them on odd shaped pans?? just bought a heart shape and would like it to come out flat..

even with character pans.. how do you use them??? it's hard enough to get them on round pans without much gap..

would love to know the answer to this also.
I don't see how you can use them.
Maybe someone else has come up with a creative way

Not sure how you would use them with those pans, but you shouldn't have to with character pans....if a hump happens while baking, just slice it off to level it! I don't really use the character pans anymore, but even with my round/square/octagonal, etc. pans, ever since switching to Magic Line pans, I don't need bake-even strips anymore! They bake perfectly level! Love those pans!

I have a set of baking strips, but I also use a cut-up dish towel and wet it. It works the same and much cheaper. I use binder clips to attach them to the pan. HTH!

I've used them on heart pans. I just wrap them around it and don't worry about where the indent is.

After not using them for 26 years I bought a set and used them twice. I don't like them, it's easier to me to just cut the hump off.

I'm with dogwakin I use dish clothes. I don't even cut them. I fold them over on each other like if you were to make a paper fan. They are now about 2in in height. I wet them and wring them out only enough so they don't drip. I use large paper clips to hold them together around the cake pan. Works like a charm every time. I use them for moistness not necessarily to bake a flat cake.
