Hi, can I make red icing by adding red color to chocolate icing? I thought someone had said that before but i can't remember... thanks in advance for your help...

If it is a pale cocoa color, you can get dark red. But you have to use Americolor red or Wilton NoTaste Red- and use a lot.

If you have dark chocolate icing, you can get black but probably not red.

Try a small amount, see what happens.

Red icing takes time to achieve the color you are looking for! I made some last weekend and it was kinda pink but now it is a true red!
