My friend is getting the adoption finalized on the little girl she has had for two years. She has asked me to make a cake for the party they are having at a steakhouse. There is not theme. Just thought I would ask for suggestions!! SO many cakes being made at this time and my brain is dead!!

thanks,
ANdrea

How about something depicting a happy family like a kid would draw? Your friend, her spouse (if any), and the child with the classic kid family picture details --- house with chimney with smoke, white picket fence, clouds floating by, all standing there holding hands with big smiles. You could write across the top "One Happy Family".

I copied this from a post I read a few wks ago, I cant remember who posted it (sorry) but it touched my heart so I wanted to share the idea of putting a poem on the cake. It is as follows:

NOT FLESH OF MY FLESH
NOR BONE OF MY BONE
BUT STILL MIRACULOUSLY STILL MY OWN
DONT FORGET FOR A SINGLE MOMENT
THAT YOU DIDNT GROW UNDER MY HEART BUT IN IT.
