Has anyone used this?? I seen this in the cake isle. Is it just used in cake recipes or can I replace it in all my baking?

It can be used in even pie crusts and pancakes and waffles. I also like it in my cinnamon roll dough. It is that secret ingredient that others can''t figure out. It is one of three (?) main vanilla's. I love all of them. For different flavored cookies and cakes.

To add a little more info, Madagascar vanilla beans are bourbon (named bourbon because of the islands they grew on which are now called something else) vanilla beans that grow in Madagascar, Indonesia, and many other regions
The same beans if grown in Mexico are called Mexican beans but are a little milder.

There is also Tahitian vanilla beans which are considered their own species and smells more fruity.

It's the only vanilla I use (I save my Tahitian for special occassions!)
Vanilla bean paste goes fabulous in salad dressing too!

Can you share where you purchase these 3? I know Watkins, mail order, has the Madagascar.

Madagascar vanilla can certainly be used in almost anything. I don't like most of the recomended types of Madagascar vanilla. Either they are weak or aren't as flavorful as I would like.

I am absolutley obsessed with vanilla. I currently purchase my everyday vanilla from Shopzilla.com it is called Rodelle and is produced by Custom Blending. I purchase other varieties of vanilla and vanilla bean from this site http://www.vanilla.com/html/facts-extracts.html and they also have a great deal of information about vanilla in general.
