I just finished making back spikes/plates for a dinosaur cake I am making in a few weeks. I set them out to harden, which I know may take a couple of days. But once they harden, how should I store them?

Thanks in advance!

Once dry, they should be protected from light and dust. Lightly cover them (not airtight) and they will last for ages.

It depends where you live (and if you have AC). I'm near the ocean in NY. I find that gumpaste pieces kept in an airtight container fare better here than not, especially if the windows are open - it's always humid here! You can also put one of those silica gel packs in the container (the kind you get when you buy shoes).

Thank you beachcakes. It has been humid here lately, today is better though. I have the silica gel packs. I will try them in a container with a pack & check them to make sure all is well. I have a few weeks before my nephew's birthday party, so if the pieces don't look like they are working out I still have time to make them again!
