I should have used blue trim instead of yellow. I thought the yellow whould bring out the detail of the car but now I think I should have used blue. Also what to charge?..It is a double layered 9X13 with whipped frosting.

I think your yellow is wonderful. It makes the rest of the cake pop.

But - how can you have done ALL THAT work (and it is wonderful!) without knowing up front how much you are charging?

Nope I think the Yellow was the best choice - besides some folks get wierd about blue food. As far as price goes it depends on your location I would say at a minimum $50 but you could go much higher....I alway undercharge!

Great cake!

I agree that at least $50 is a fair price. The work to get the image on the side of the cake alone is worth that much. Great job! thumbs_up.gif
By the way, I like the yellow, it gives it that warning flag on the race track feel! icon_lol.gif

I charge $50 for a 12X18 single layer plus $5 for each car. That's why I was trying to figure out what people would charge, in case I get another order for someone else. This cake is for a friend of ours so he is getting a deal. I'm only charging him $30 because he didn't ask for this specific cake. He said what ever?? He didin't care. I don't feel I can charge him for something extra he didn't ask for, but I did tell him what I was giong to do. That is how I know he wanted Jimmy Johnson, Whipped frosting and chocolate cake. But I think if I did just flowers he'd be happy too.

I also agree about the ruffle.

Thanks All

Just an update. He picked up his cake last night. I gave him a price of $30 and he gave me $40. I was very pleased as well as him.
