I made the 3D Rice Krispie Elmo for a birthday party this weekend. Everyone loved it and 2 people have asked me how much it will cost to make an Elmo cake for them. It only cost me about $10 in supplies but it took about 10 total hours to make it. Should I charge $70 for the Elmo?

I should add that the scratch cakes I made for him to sit on cost about $70 to feed 70-100 people (one tier was 9" round, the other 12" round). Doubling that is $140. Therefore, should I charge $210 to recreate the cake with Elmo?

Also, I plan to write a Lessons Learned thread for the 3D Elmo as soon as I have the time to put all my thoughts down!

TIA,
Danielle

Hmmmmm well I don't know if this will help. As always it depends on where you are located and the market. If you see in my pics I have 2 elmo cakes. One made with the bear pan (i charged 50) the other gifts with rice crispie elmo (I charged 35)

Like I said not sure if this helps?

Girl you should charge 210 if that is what you are worth!

I looked at the elmo cakes on your gallery and in 2006 I would charge $175 for the tiered gift elmo and probably $95 for the one from the bear pan on a 10" round
