I have been at one of the best bakeries in my town for 10 months now and my boss, and friend, called me into her office and said she wanted me to be the first to know that after christmas we will not reopen. she said she cant keep the bakery afloat any more. she said when she bought it the ex-owner said she was not in as much debt as she is and so she has to let it go.
i am so upset this is the best place i have ever worked. i wish i had the money to help her stay open. i am not even there for the money. i am making $10 an hour and the manager at the walmart bakery saw some of my work and offered me $13 an hour and i turned it down because i dont think i would like it there as much as i do where i am.
sorry this was so long but i needed to tell people how upset i am. i didnt tell my boss cause i didnt want to upset her anymore than she was and i cant tell anyone at work cause she asked me not to. she said she is going to tell them one at a time and i told my husband and he was very comforting but i feel like he may not really know just how much this job means to me. there are very few people who can say they really love their job and i was able to say this for the last 10 months.

Have you considered talking to her about maybe becoming partners?
Maybe you could have a better chance getting a loan and/or investors if you were partners? I know it isn't so easy, but understand how you feel and have seriously thought about these things myself. There are also organizations for women in business. Anyways, just thoughts I am putting out there. Whatever happens, remember that when a door is closed, somewhere another one opens... 
thank you for all the kind words and for all the PMs i wish i could stop being so sad about this but this was the perfect place to work and i put in apps for other store bakeries like walmart and kroger but i dont want to work there.
there is no way i could buy the store from her my credit is so bad they dont even have a number for how bad my credit is...

thanks for everyones excitement with and for me. i am sooooo excited we get with the people who have offered to back us financially tomorrow and then with the owner of the bakery on monday and then we will know for sure if we are going to get to do this so everyone star praying!!!
