I have a 40 cookie order for the end of the month. I use (marshmallow) fondant on top of the cookies as the base color. Do you think I could cut them all out ahead of time and just store in an air-tight container until I need to use them? This would really save me alot of time.

I was wondering the same thing for one of my projects. I was thinking that I could cut out the decorations, put wax paper between them, and then store in a plastic container.

Has anyone does this successfully?

As above, You have to store them separated with something. Then very carefully packaged. If they dry out it might be a small problem.

I've done it before and let them harden somewhat (few days) and they were super easy to handle and then when the cookies got baked I put the already hardened fondant on the hot cookies and it melted and stuck to the cookies and then when they cooled it was firm but still soft not nearly as stiff as it had been before I put it on! I guess heating it up again resoftens it or something??
