Well I gave in and got three square separator plates & the columns to go with 'em (Wilton) just so I would have a plain white square display stand.

The associate at the store said the plates & columns were all I needed.

Is it me, or do these things seem flimsy? I have three plates, various sizes. So I stack em with their little feet-things on the bottoms, (using the columns in between) but the tiers above just sort of slide around, nothing is 'fixed'...am I doing this right? Am I missing something?

Thanks CCers!

For each separation, you need two plates and four columns. The feet on two plates face each other with the columns between two plates. If the feet do not 'lock' into the columns, you can use something a bit sticky to hold them, like corn syrup.

What a pain. I am lucky that the women who own the local supply store are terrific. They generally ask me if I need 'such and such' to go with what I bought. they know I forget stuff and I impulse buy all the time.
