Question. DIL and I keep wondering about.
When we smooth out the cake with the sponge paint roller, the top edge of the cake sorta bumps up.
Soooo, we smooth it from the top and "bump!" now it is facing out!!!!
Back and forth, back and forth....chasing that bump.
Anyone else have that problem?
Thanks!

Yep, that's happened to me, too. I keep telling myself the next time I decorate a cake that will just be BC with no fondant I'm going to try to leave maybe an eighth or quarter of an inch space from the edge of the cake to the diameter of the circle of icing on top (round cake most likely). So that when I smooth the top the icing pushes to the edge and meets what's come up from the sides. (That's my hypotheseis and I'm sticking with it! icon_razz.gif )

Of course I have a cake that I will be trying this on due this weekend so hopefully this will work when I do it in a couple of days!
