I have a stupid question. What exactly is luster dust or petal dust and where can I find it? I've tried Michael's, Joann's, and a cake store here locally. I've also tried on the CC website and can't find it. icon_cry.gif Where can I find it. The local stores look at me as though I'm from another planet icon_confused.gif and Michael's doesn't carry it. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! I like the effects and want to be able to do it on my cakes. I think I've read that you mix it with a small amount of fluid (alcohol??) and paint it on. Is this right? Can someone get me pointed in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a ton. Heather icon_wink.gif

Here's a link to order some online. You can use it dry to add sparkle or mix with alcohol and paint on.

Here is a good explaination of all the dusts: http://sdbytracy.com/dusts.htm

Payless cake Decor is a good place. A bunch of other places (that I have ordered from) include:

Country Kitchen
Beryl's
The Baker's Kitchen

I have a question regarding Payless Cake Decor's luster dust. It says it's a 2-pack for $3.98. Does that mean you get 4 grams? And is it two packs of the same color?

Thanks.

Yes, two 2 gram containers of the same color. It is a better place to order from to stock up on the colors that you use a lot. If you are new to luster dust and are not sure of what colors, then ordering singles from other places may be wiser at first.
