Thanks fooby. BTW, your clown cake is so cool. The sides are sooooo smooth (definitely the Melvira Method at work) and I love the two toned borders. Your clowns are adorable. Can't wait to try them next week. Wish me luck.

After reading this post, I had my DH buy me rollers on his way home from work. I had to do a Hello Kitty cake for a customer I really want to impress and I LOVE THE MELVIRA METHOD!!!! OMG. This is sooo awesome and the cake turned out awesome. I always use Viva but I think this makes it consistently smoother.

Thank you sooo much Melvira! You made my life easier!!

Well, my husband is in his way to Home Depot and I asked him to get me a high density paint roll and he looked at me and said: "But I already have paint rolls!" I said yes but they are not high density and they have already been used! icon_rolleyes.gif

He looked at me with a puzzled looked on his face! I didn't tell him what I needed it for! Just wait till he sees what I need it for! icon_biggrin.gif

I hope you told him you wanted a small one so he doesn't come home with a regular size paint roller! icon_lol.gif I can't believe how much easier doing my cakes are with this method. MELVIRA DOES ROCK!!!

I also love this method for smoothing out my buttercream icing. It is so easy and makes them look great.
