Nice cakes! I wonder how they get by with selling Disney cakes and those like Sponge Bob cakes? I thought it wasn't legal to do that.
Oh and I love Let Them Eat Cake! I live by them and the owner was so nice to me. He had me come into the shop for the day and taught me how to do Chocolate molded Oscars. The kind for the Acadamy Awards. He also was the one who showed me how to use luster dust. Until I met him I had never heard of it.
As a matter of fact it's because of Chris the owner that I got into cake decorating. I went hunting for a cake supply store to buy more luster dust as I used all of his and when I did find a place I noticed they taught cake decorating and signed up.
Do you all remember the Florida Cakes Lady who used photos of CC members for her website last week??
Well, I noticed that Freed's Bakery has photos of wilton wedding cakes on their site, but nowhere is credit given to Wilton. The only thing is that on most photos, they have Freed's Bakery across them....the Wilton ones don't have anything...
Aren't they doing the same thing that the other lady did??? Can they do that?
Just curious...
I have run across a lot of websites that have Wilton pics in the gallery. For that matter, there are CC members with pics on their website from Wilton and other cake designers and no credit given. It is actually quite common. Now, as for can they or should they do that...I can't answer that. I just know that I have seen it quite often. I am not one to call folks out or start drama, we all have to choose what we can live with.
Howdy,,,,,
I frequently check out Freed's Bakery to see what new designs they come up with..
Is is just me or do some of their cakes look like they were covered in that whip cream type stuff??
I'm going to Vegas after Christmas and have it in my book to stop by the bakery there and try a piece of cake.....
Now for the other site, "Let them eat cake"? I think that's what it is....I just saw that site and I agree, those cakes are "beautiful"!!!!!

The cakes that I ordered from them came to me with a whipped topping on it instead of theBC I ordered. This is actually something that I have heard about from others that have gone out there and had cakes ordered for weddings. I just find it odd that they would send a whipped cake out the door in 115 degree weather. I had to practically put my cakeback together in the hotelroom before my freind sawher cake. I was disappointed. But if you are heading out there...they are about 10 minutes off the strip but try their butter cookies and coconut macroons. those are both to die for. ![]()

jacqrose......will do that too......
Any other goodies that you know of that I could try??
Also,, isn't there another bakery I think....out there in Vegas near or off the strip that they sell really REALLY good Canollis??..
Last time my hubby & I were out there, he had some, loved them...but I don't remember who it was that sell's them......
Thanks.......
crashdummy2,
I dont remember what bakery it is either. Your best bet is to ask the consierge at whatever hotel you are staying at. most will know exactly what you are looking for. but I do know the wynn has a great chocolate shop that has been on the food network before. Enjoy!!!
omg I love both of these sites! I love that bib cake and i havent really looked at the other cakes ![]()
going into my bookmarks!
Freed's Bakery can become quite addictive if you live here. There aren't many bakeries in town with their caliber. I priced out a cake for my step-daughter's wedding and was surprised that the price was very reasonable. I ended up making the cake myself and saved a bundle but that's beside the point.
