Can anyone tell me what size is a "sheet cake"? I had a request for sheet cakes but not quite sure what size it is.

Well, there are different sizes. They are probably asking for a 9x13 (1/4 sheet). There is a 11x15, 12x18,and 24x36 also. The 9x13 is the size you see most ing the grocery stores.

There is no definite size of a sheet cake. I (along with a few others on here) refuse to use the word Sheet cake. When a customer ask for one the first question I ask is "How many people do you need to serve?" You will get an answer anywhere from 5-100. People don't know what sizes a sheet cake are and everywhere across the country tends to use different sizes for a 1/4, 1/2 , and full.

leily is right. I refuse to use the term "Half" or "whole" sheet cake and here's why: http://forum.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=3245473#3245473
