Hi All,

Tonight will be my last class in the Wilton 1. We are to bring an already iced cake. I baked mine on Sunday and iced it last night. I used the raspberry filling. My question is after I decorate it tonight, can I freeze it until Saturday? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks icon_sad.gif

I think once a cake is frosted and decorated then it can not be put in the frezzer. But I am not sure.

It may not be at its optimum freshness, but I'm sure it will still be tasty. Are you taking Course 2 ? Good luck! icon_smile.gif

It should be fine, just make sure it's in some form of air tight container or as close to it as you can get.

Sure you can put it in the freezer. Just make sure that it is covered up tightly.

you can also place a plastic garbage bag over it..place the cake into a cake box then inside a plastic bag and seal the bag..this will help keep moisture from getting to the cake.

Yes, like everyone else has said just wrap it up. I have done it and it came out just fine!

I think what you can do is to put it into the freezer until frozen (like a few hours) then wrap with plastic wrap. That way you wont ruin your icing and decorations.

I agree with merissa. My instructions that I give my brides on freezing the top tier is to freeze it first, then wrap it, this keeps the icing from sticking to the wrap. When you're ready to thaw it out, gently unwrap and let it sit at room temp.
