I got a call today to do a cake for a memorial- only it's not your typical request. The deceased was a Clown (think JP Patches / Gertrude) for many years- so the family would like a "clown" sheet cake (with the words "Somewhere there's a Parade") for the gathering. Any ideas/help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The first image I thought of was the typical one of the clown facing toward you while juggling balls, slightly looking up at the balls with a huge grin on his face. I think lots of bright colors would really make everyone happy. Good luck.

I would get a picture of his clown face and do it on a sheet cake and pipe balloons all the way around maybe some candy confetti make it a party!!!!!!!!! icon_wink.gif

If yhou go into 'gallery' choose children's b'day cakes and type 'clown' into the search box will get 10 pages of ideas.
I do like the idea from 'cakenut' icon_smile.gif

thanks for the ideas- I just called the customer- he doesn't want a picture on the cake (I thought that was a great idea)- so back to the drawing board! Oh, and he said "he wasn't your typical clown"- what does that mean??

there are many types of clowns.

not all are the happy, red-nosed, big-footed, frizzy wigged juggling kind.

classic example: Emmett Kelly Sr and Jr who both did a tramp clown (Red Skelton's Freddy the Freeloader is a similar tho' more happy version).

best to ask just what type of clown he was and work from there.
