I was going to make a cake and fill it with Raspberry Jam. Do I need to keep this cake in the fridge after it is complete if it is for tomorrow or can I leave it covered on the counter. The BC I'm using to cover the cake does not need to be kept in the fridge.
Thanks for your help! I'm new to cake decorating and I'm trying to span my horizons beyond BC filling. ![]()
I believe it depends on the type of Raspberry Jam you use. If you get one of those premade sleeves of raspberry for filling then it's no problem. If it's from a jar or homemade, you have to check out the ingredients that go into the jam. Some are better refrigerated than others. Sorry, this isn't such a great help, but maybe others can answer better.
Personally, I make my filling and I leave it refrigerated as long as possible before I decorate (usually in fondant), then it's out for most of the day it will be served and this has worked well for me.
