I need to share with people who'll understand how I feel!!
icon_biggrin.gif
Tonight I was at a business class, to learn about the law here in my Province, about businesses, and so on.... There was a French couple, just arrived (1 year ago) from France. They're planning on opening a bakery with French pastries and fresh bread. Not the same stuff as the other bakery we have in town. As the workshop goes, we talk, I told them I had a cake decorating business of my own, not doing other pastries though, except cookies.... (I had brought some cookies to share, and make publicity) They tasted my cookies, I showed them my book (that I always have with me at workshops) and they said they want me with them. YIPPEE!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif The man is a professional pastry chef, chocolatier and he already won 2 gold medals in France for his work!! He wants to take me under his wing to teach me is knowledge... I can't believe it!!!

I always believed that nothing happens for nothing! This workshop wasn't supposed to take place before spring but a few people (like me) that had taken other workshops asked for it. So we had it tonight. If it wasn't for that special request I wouldn't have met them!!! They plan to open at the end of January. He ordered his ovens and they have to wait around 6 weeks to get them because they're custom made.
I'm so happy I could cry!!!! Learning from a French pastry chef!!! WOW!!!

Thanks for letting me SHOUT my happiness!!!!

Thank you all!!!
They said not to worry if I don't hear from them for a few weeks, they want to get everything in place before doing anything. And they said they were relieved to have found someone with skills and potential already. I was blushing when I heard them said this. Having a French pastry chef tell you you have skills and potential... oh my, I'm on a cloud!!!!!

I'll keep you posted!!! I'm always in here anyway icon_wink.gif

Congratulations. Does the fact that my eyes just turned green tell you anything (jealous, jealous, jealous!).

Now, go out tomorrow and get prices in your area on chef's clothing and shoes. If you show up in his kitchen without proper attire, he might lose his eagerness to train you.

icon_lol.gif thank you for your "jealousy" icon_lol.gif

For the jackets, I'm ok, I know where to get good ones, but for shoes.... Anyone knows a good brand for long working hours? I don't know a thing about that..... thanks for the help... icon_smile.gif

thanks so much everyone!! I'm so happy! Actually I've been praying for something like this happen. I asked in my prayers to be able to have cake decorating lessons from the big schools (I was thinking about the Wilton contest with the 2 weeks culinary class, but I'm not in the finalists) so I thought it was over for my prayer, so I forgot about it. But now it's even better. I had just finished reading a book from Sylvia Browne when I first formulated my prayer. And for those who are familiar with Sylvia, when you pray to Mother God you ask for a rose as a sign, well it's when they saw my flower pot cake that he told me I had good potential. So MY roses were the sign...

I just can't wait.... I'm know looking for good shoes, that I could use in my home too when I do cakes or bake for long hours, any tips anyone?
