Try this:

http://people.aol.com/people

I think it's really pretty...

but isn't it almost exactly like the one on the cover of one of the Wilton books? Except in more of a taupe/cream color?

I thought it was off center too.. but the more I look at it .. is it a round or oval cake? I can't tell... talk about ALOT of doweling..... that poor bottom cake had alot of pressure on it I am sure!

IMHO - I think it is boring cake.......hum drum swiss dots and roses. For someone who could afford a sonogram machine, I would think they could be a little more inventive and cutting edge.......The only thing really special to me is the size.

I'm thinking the rose lined cake table was the best part..........so I give the florist a thumbs up thumbs_up.gif

Personally I think the cake is georgeous! Of course, I'm a huge fan of simplicity when it comes to wedding cakes. To me...it's just right!

I thought it was just me. I thought it was off center or leaning or something. I would have expected a more fabulous cake from such a celebrity couple. It is very plain. Pretty, but plain.

tinascakes I am definitely with you on that one. Maybe its just the pic but it does look crooked. I find the cake kind of boring too. The size is great and the roses are kool but thats about it. I agree the flower set up on the table is more eye catching then the huge cake.

I'm wondering if the "angle" is part of the design??? The cake is impressive in size but I agree with the other's on it's not what you would expect from such a celebrated wedding. I'm a huge fan of simple and elegant but this doesn't really match all the hipe....I mean they rented a CASTLE!?!?!
Oh well just my 2 cents worth!

I thought it was leaning but sometime the camera can do that right? I notice some people take pics on here and swear up and down that it is not leaning and it is the way the camera was angled(sp)

I think it's beautiful! If the bride wanted simple, she deserves to have that. Just because they are both famous doesn't mean that they have to have an extravagant cake. I agree that it does appear to be leaning. I wonder if we'll ever see more pictures or another angle. The table is beautifuly arranged!

I really like the cake, but my first thought was "God Bless you, Katie, stand up straight; it is ok to be taller than your husband." The dress is really pretty, too.

awwww.....i was hoping for a really breathtaking cake by Ron Ben-Israel or Gail Watson. I'm a bit disappointed! icon_sad.gif

I don't think it's leaning. It's just the camera lens distortion. See the strrrrrreeeeetched flowers in the front too? thumbs_up.gif

That is gorgeous! I love that it is understated!! That makes it perfect. They are such an embarrassment of hype that it's nice to see something *normal* with them! But I don't think those are swiss dots, I read somewhere that they were white chocolate chips!! Talk about weird! I thought that was really odd. Nothing wrong with it, just strange. I also agree that the table looks lovely! Perhaps they didn't want the cake to fight with the gorgeous flowers on the table. Besides, I see some of those really ornate cakes and I think they just look ugly. Especially when you take a super ornate cake and put it on one of those ornate silver plateaus. They just fight each other and don't look as nice as a plain cake on the plateau, or an ornate cake on a plain stand. Just my $.02 added to the mix! icon_wink.gif

I love the simple elegance of this cake. I don't like all the gaudy ornate cakes done by some of the big time decorators. IMHO they just look way overdone. Not for my taste, but to each his own, right?
But It does look like it is leaning to me.

I heard on the radio that when they cut into it rose petals flowed out. I don't know if it is true or not, but that is what the radio said. That would make it much less understated it that was the case.

Happy Baking

I think that it is very pretty...simple and elegant at the same time. I'm sure that they loved it! I don't usually like the super busy cakes.
