I think it's really pretty...
but isn't it almost exactly like the one on the cover of one of the Wilton books? Except in more of a taupe/cream color?
I bet have looked at that cake 100 times. Everytime I look at it I see someting different. I just love it
. The roses are perfect. Thats alot of roses.
The only question I have is does anyone know who created this cake?
Wow, thats a beautiful cake!!!! It looks a little off center though. Maybe it's just me.
I thought it was off center too.. but the more I look at it .. is it a round or oval cake? I can't tell... talk about ALOT of doweling..... that poor bottom cake had alot of pressure on it I am sure!
IMHO - I think it is boring cake.......hum drum swiss dots and roses. For someone who could afford a sonogram machine, I would think they could be a little more inventive and cutting edge.......The only thing really special to me is the size.
I'm thinking the rose lined cake table was the best part..........so I give the florist a thumbs up ![]()
tinascakes I am definitely with you on that one. Maybe its just the pic but it does look crooked. I find the cake kind of boring too. The size is great and the roses are kool but thats about it. I agree the flower set up on the table is more eye catching then the huge cake.
Its pretty but I must admit my first thought was....is it leaning? I really like that its simple but elegant. I like it.

I'm wondering if the "angle" is part of the design??? The cake is impressive in size but I agree with the other's on it's not what you would expect from such a celebrated wedding. I'm a huge fan of simple and elegant but this doesn't really match all the hipe....I mean they rented a CASTLE!?!?!
Oh well just my 2 cents worth!
I thought it was leaning but sometime the camera can do that right? I notice some people take pics on here and swear up and down that it is not leaning and it is the way the camera was angled(sp)
I think it's beautiful! If the bride wanted simple, she deserves to have that. Just because they are both famous doesn't mean that they have to have an extravagant cake. I agree that it does appear to be leaning. I wonder if we'll ever see more pictures or another angle. The table is beautifuly arranged!
The only question I have is does anyone know who created this cake?
The other thread said the maker was http://www.sweetladyjane.com/
That is gorgeous! I love that it is understated!! That makes it perfect. They are such an embarrassment of hype that it's nice to see something *normal* with them! But I don't think those are swiss dots, I read somewhere that they were white chocolate chips!! Talk about weird! I thought that was really odd. Nothing wrong with it, just strange. I also agree that the table looks lovely! Perhaps they didn't want the cake to fight with the gorgeous flowers on the table. Besides, I see some of those really ornate cakes and I think they just look ugly. Especially when you take a super ornate cake and put it on one of those ornate silver plateaus. They just fight each other and don't look as nice as a plain cake on the plateau, or an ornate cake on a plain stand. Just my $.02 added to the mix! ![]()
Elegant and Gorgeous! I love it!
I wish I could see a close-up of the roses. It would take me 6 months to make that many. ![]()
Is it leaning or was the camera person drunk?
I heard on the radio that when they cut into it rose petals flowed out. I don't know if it is true or not, but that is what the radio said. That would make it much less understated it that was the case.
Happy Baking
