Please Help! Black Fondant?

Hi there,

If anyone has any advise for me I would be so grateful.

I need to ice a square fruit cake for my wedding and I would like it to be black with large white polka dots.

I have no idea where to start!!!

Use chocolate fondant and black icing coloring.

I am from South Africa and I don't know if we have chocolate fondant yet but I will hunt arround. Thank you so much for your advice.

You can add powdered cocoa to white fondant, knead well and then add the black gel, you'll get a wonderful black. Good Luck!

I don't know if you can get Satin Ice fondant but they make it ready made in black.

I concur....but if not available the coco powder to fondant kneaded well and black coloring added work very well for me.

Here is a link to the Wilton instructions. They use candy melts instead of cocoa.
