Need to share because anyone who has ever read any of my posts knows that I become unhinged and slightly looney when it comes to making cakes. I have been planning my nieces birthday cake for months and have changed my mind 500 times to what I was going to do.
I took the day off today to get this cake done, kids at school, husband at work. Just me and the cake. I took my time, remembered to eat and drink (does anyone else get that involved!?) and here it is.
Even when her leg broke off when I went to place her on the cake I just took a breath and fixed her.. no falling on the floor in tears for me today! I was thinking about putting a tiny butterfly by her name, but I am almost too scared to touch it now.
Thank you to everyone for the ideas, encouragement and support. A BIG BIG BIG thank you to Aine2 for sharing your talent.
You guys are great & I am really grateful.
that is such a sweet cake, Im sure she's gonna be thrilled to bits!

Mind???? Of course not...... all my cakes come from CC in one way or another.
Thanks for the comments. I am Molly's only aunty and her mum & dad (my brother & sister in law) tried for years to have her, so I really wanted something special. She is our miracle baby!
Wow!!!! Way beyond what I would even try. AMAZING I think this cake is great. How was this done??
Katharry you've done a great job, it's a fabulous cake and looks perfect. You should be really pleased with yourself.
Kay, it's a two tier fruit cake covered in fondant. The figure was made using the 'Anie2 method'.
I hand made the daisies by using a small daisy cutter, I then cut each petal in half (yes can you believe I actually did that to all of those petals!? ) and rolled a toothpick across each petal to fan out. I then glued one daisy on to another and made the little yellow centre. The stand up daisies are gumpaste dried on to wires.
I don't think I will be making flowers for a while!

Absolutely perfect!! I wish I could view aine2's tutorial but for some reason, I just can't with my computer!! So sad!! Can't wait for aine2 to write a book!! HINT HINT!!
A precious cake for a precious miracle little girl !
Are you sure you're not aine2 in disquise ?
Not eat or drink? Yep ~ I do it all the time. I always drink coffee in the evenings except when I'm making a cake. I remember to fix a pot of coffee but I don't even think about getting a cup .
Congratulations from America to New Zealand!
Great having and aunty who loves you that much!!!!!! Lucky little girl. Congrats on your cake skills.
Wow! You're cake is so precious! Great job....the little girl looks so realistic and the flowers are beautiful! This is definitely a cake to be proud of!
I would love to read Aine2's tutorial, but I have searched the site and am having trouble finding it...can anyone give me a link? Thanks!
Absolutely perfect, as I have said before, you are awesome girl!!!! I want to be just like you! Ha! How did you do her name, what did you use? Keep on inspiring us!!
I agree it is flawless!
What a pretty cake!
I can't imagine how long it took you to make all those flowers, but it looks like they were worth it! They look so real!
Have a blessed birthday party!

This is fabulous! the little girl is so cute and looks perfect! How did you get her hands to look like hands? I have so much trouble trying to get hands to look right!
And the face looks like a little girl, the couple i have done look like something has landed from out of space!! Maybe I should just stick to doing flowers - or just more practice is needed!!!
cheers
Jan
