i am making a crusting cream cheese frosting that calls for crisco and i was just wondering if any of you have substituted the regular crisco for the butter flavored crisco and if so would you recommend it or not?

Any comments or suggestions are much appreciated!

Hugs,
marcela

The icing will probably taste fine, but it will be VERY yellow.

I had a recipe for cream cheese icing that actually called for the butter flavor crisco. It tasted very good, but it was hard to decorate with. I guess you could add more sugar to it to stiffen it up.

Could you not add some butter flavouring/essence?

Thank you SO much for yur suggestions. All 3 of them make a lot of sense! I will probably add some butter flavor to the regualr Crisco because i do not want a yellow frosting.

Thanks again,
