Powdered sugar mixed with regular sugar will give a sparkle to the base.

maybe adding some whole or lightly crushed up white cake sparkles to the mixture Zmama said could add some more sparkle. I live in New England and fresh snow is almost blinding to the eye when the sun hits it, so the more shimmer the better!
