I don't know if I could call anything I do a talent. I dance, both ballet and jazz. I've almost made it to pointe and I'm so excited to start. So I guess those could be talents. I also draw, but I'm not amazing. I have a deviantart where I post my artwork. If anyone ever wants to see, it's here (though it's kind of embarrassing icon_redface.gif And I haven't updated it in awhile)

Everyone has talents! Look beyond the obvious (making things, music etc)...
Also, maybe you just haven't discovered all of them yet.

BTW, I love that baby shower cake you made. It is absolutely beautiful!

I too thought the same as some others, talent?????????
I could say the same boo hoo stuff I give my DH about every other week, I work 30 hours a week, balance the ck book, pay the bills, taxi the children, help with their homework (not the 16 DD, her homework is too hard icon_redface.gif ) have the cars serviced, get the grocerys, make school lunches, make dinner, walk the dog on my lunch hour and start laundry that I'll finish at 9 p.m. after I do the dishes, sweep the floor and get a cake in the oven, and it's only Monday. icon_lol.gif
But really, I love every part of mother/wife duties and wouldn't trade them for anything.
I can roll my tongue and I'm double jointed and can bend my fingers really gross like icon_biggrin.gif and last but not least, I think I fix my hair really nice when I have extra time. Not close to all the cool talents of others, but I feel pretty good with all that.

I only scrapbook - no other talents.

Unless you can call being organized a talent. I'm one of those freaks that has everything in their house labeled and in it's proper place. My family calls me Bree (Desperate Housewives). I actually have organized my friend's and family's kitchens, garages, storage areas, etc. for fun (yeah I'm goofy). It's kind of like finishing a cool cake, I get a high from completing a job right.

There are so many extremely talented people here on CC. My favorite other than doing cakes is painting on glass. Took 1 class 2 years ago, bought the books (Donna Dewberry) and have been painting on any surface ever since, did a 12 piece wine glass set for gift to 1 sister, also made trivits with Christmas designs on ceramic tiles. Will be trying canvas rugs next. Don't have pictures of anything yet but am going to start a painting album like my cake album. I also sew, crochet, needlepoint, craft angels from wood and other materials, button dolls, and love to cook. Being retired I have plenty of time try whatever I like, have been buying supplies and a book to make clay figures, also love to make designs/invitations/cards in Print Shop Delux program on the computer.

Wow! You are all so very talented.

I don't think I have any talent other than being organized. I like everything in its place. I had some hobbies a few years back but then I returned to school and got my master's degree in business administration so studying took all of my time.

I have always loved to cook and bake but only took decorating classes in the past year. I used to cross-stitch, rug hook and make ceramics/pottery. I think my best talent is probably animal rescue. I pick up stray animals and bring them home or find them a home.

Gosh, I sound so boring compared to all of you. lol

Ladyofcake, your little girl looks soooo sweet in that bonnet, it's been 31yrs since I made my last loopy bonnet and dont have instructions anymore sadly, all I remember doing is wrapping the wool around finger twice and knitting into it, they were quite simple really, but so pretty..I will do a search about them and if I can find instuctions I will PM you with them. icon_smile.gif

Cmmom, I think organizing is DEFINITELY a talent - I try my level best, believe me, but I think I am a MESS actually. shhh.gif No matter how hard I try, there is never enough room for all the stuff around here.
Wish you were here, I could really use your talent - you'd have loads of fun organizing my place, haahaaaa....

Gee wiz! I see several things you guys have made that I would gladly pay for!

I'm the type of person who gets really into my hobby. I buy everything and try to take as many classes and learn all I can about it and then I burn out.

I did the stamping thing a few years ago. I found I loved the classes and the shopping part but after awhile it was no longer fun to me. So I sold it all and gave tons away then looked for a new hobby. CAKES! I love it and love the buying stuff but mostly I really enjoy seeing others get a kick out the cakes.

I've tried lots of craft things but I don't really enjoy the crafts once they are done. I can't really sew only because I want to have the item started and finished all in one day. I did think of doing quilting as I adore them but gave up that though knowing I would be up all night trying to sew it all together in one day and then getting upset at how long it takes to quilt.

I would love to take a class in stain glass. I think that would be fun.

I would have to say my biggest talents (if you can call them that) is Party planning/giving. I love to go all out and try to have things that others have never seen before or even thought of. I did for money for awhile but then gave it up. It's more fun to do it for people I know.

I love to wrap presents too. Everyone loves my bows and special touches. I've had people ask me to wrap their things and they would pay me but I won't as I like people to know it's one of my presents by the way they look.

I'm also really good at decorating a house. Either for a Holiday (yes I go all out for EVERY Holiday) or just everyday.

But even though those are the things I'm most known for I don't really call them a hobby as I don't do them all the time. So I guess it's more of a talent.

You sound like ME, I have stacks of card and scrapbook making stuff Luckily I dont feel quite so guilty on buying them now cos I can use some of it with the cake making....but you made me smile when you said "you would be up all night to finish things"...I'm exactly like that, I was same when I started to self teach with cakes...sat up night after night learning different techniques,Would'nt give in till I'd done, I turn into a night owl, LOL

Wow what amazing talent we have here in CC.. I am in awe at some of the items you have shown here.. I particularly love the cat jacket.. I am a cat lover and that is so adorable.. I bet you will get lots of orders for those now..
I do some painting in my spare time when I am not baking.. My last project was a toy box for my grandson, he just turned one. My son and his wife had just lost their dog, who they had for 14 years . The dog loved the baby so much.. so I thought it would be nice to have a pic of Brutus on the toy box too..

I love the posts about organizing being a talent!! Other than my niece I've never personally known anyone that loves their organization as much as I do. My 'day job' is at a bank & everyone I work with always jokes with me about my overly (to them) organized desk. I had one of my desk drawers open one day when 2 co-workers walked in. One of them said "her desk is so organized", the other person said "yeah, but what does the bottom desk drawer look like?" I opened it & it was empty! They cracked up!! It's weird that I love cake decorating sooo much because it's a very messy hobby! Oh well, I still love it!!

Besides decorating cakes I have a desire to be artsy craftsy but it simply eludes me. I have taken sewing classes but I cannot seem to master it. I have only the basics of crocheting and was a Creative Memory scrapebooking consultant. I think my problem is I don't have the time to devote to other products. I work 40 hrs a week, wife of a pastor, mom of 3 (the youngest still at home), personal assistant, church secretary, sunday school teacher, church historian and administrative assistant for the bible college. But occassionally I will crank out something unique like the attached diaper cake I did for my godson's babyshower.

Wow, there are so many cool people here with wonderful creativity! I am like a few people here in that I dabble in things but am never great at anything. I just got into cake decorating 2 weeks ago, was only going to sell cakes because everyone loves the taste of my food / desserts but I thought I would give my hand a go at making them look pretty too. Have a really long way to go though and am starting my course to learn how to make flowers and work with RI next year. I can't wait!!

Well I have a few other talents but I wouldn't call my cake decorating a talent yet icon_sad.gif.

I like to do web design and HTML. I like to take pictures. I like to paint, stencil and sponge paint, like bedroom walls icon_biggrin.gif. I like to decorate and rearrange furniture and stuff and make a house a home and make it more liveable lol. My most favorite hobby is and probably always will be computers and web design and HTML. I've done many websites over the years some of which are still up and running. I also write poetry... which is a big part of my life due to alot of drama and hardships we've over come in our time here... anyway I have alot of hobbies and very few talents lol unless complaining is a talent icon_wink.gif

Hi all! What a great idea for a post. We're all friends hers and it's good to get to know each other a little better. Welp, I make glass beaded jewelry and so I never have to wear the same thing twice. It's fun until I spill the beads all over the floor. lol

I too can tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue icon_lol.gif

Also, I enjoy crocheting, painting ceramics (which I haven't done in awhile), interior decorating, woodworking...with the big tools!! I made the buffet in my dining room and the cabinets in my laundry room (pic attached), installed a wet bar in the family room (plumbed it also), crown moulding in my house and my neighbors house too, put in a new laminate floor, refaced my dad's kitchen cabinets and made new doors and drawer fronts....hmmm is that enough?

Oh my how could I forget my crocheting and cross stitching!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to do this! I've made my daughter a fringed scarf, I'm in the middle of making her an afgan to match her new room, I've made my husband and neighbor scarves. I'm learning to do alot with the crocheting. I've done pictures upon pictures with the cross stitch, as well as I finished a Tree Skirt my grandmom started before she passed. Once we move and I get unpacked I plan to dabble in the cabinet making also. Very limited on closets and spaces to hide stuff so new cabinets and hutches would be great! I've made cutting boards and stuff from scrap wood hubby has brought home.... on my list is endless lol
