My Foot Tall Birthday Cake!

I posted this late last night, but it must have gotten lost in the midst of a flurry of photos because it didn't get many views (either that or it's just really bad ). I really love this cake, so I thought I would shamelessly post it here in the forums (sorry Melvira and all the others for whom this is a pet peeve !):

It's made of 3 6x3in rounds, and when it was torted and stacked, it measured a foot in height. Covering it with the fondant was an interesting exercise , but I think it turned out OK. It's my take on a Lindy Smith design, well, a couple of them actually! I'm looking forward to having my girlfriends over tomorrow for lunch and eating it - anyone else want a piece?!
wow! that is wonderful!
I can't even think about how hard it was to cover in fondant without it ripping down the tall sides!!
I love it!!
Well, I did totally miss this one in the gallery, it is soooooo cute! Hope you girls have all kinds of fun!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Very colorful and festive!!!!! A VERY HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
By the way, how the heck do you plan on cutting such a cake K'ly
The feathers I got direct from Lindy Smith's website, and the silver balls I buy at my local bakery wholesaler (saving $$$$$!). The cake should be easy to cut - it has a board under each 6x3in cake, and a fondant circle on the top of the bottom and middle cakes, so it's basically a 3 cakes in 1 job!
