I just want to add my 2 cents again. I've been to said website before this happened and had to leave because I couldn't navigate and find my way around which is when someone referred me to CC for help. I have been referred back to said site since this happened and have gone back to try to find the information that was referred to me in my need of help but was unable to understand it.

I'll also say that although said person(s) were members before earlier incidents yesterday, that was their first post on the forums.

Not trying to start trouble or get this thread locked because it is helpful to have this legal information for this issue as well as any issues our licensed and unlicensed business owners here on CC may need to refer to in the future icon_smile.gif

I love CC and hate drama which is why I love CC so much there is never any drama except for stories of drama we've had in our baking and decorating. I love CC and don't want to lose it as it is where I spend my entire day literally. When I have nothing else to do I sit here refreshing, reading, helping where I can and I love CC for just that, it keeps me interested, it keeps me wanting to refresh and find out what's going on with others... So I guess my point is like others have said, who is going to miss one recipe icon_smile.gif We'll make due with what we have in our recipe boxes as well as our heads. We can come up with ideas for new recipes like crazy icon_smile.gif I think we'll make due icon_smile.gif

Just my 2 cents..... I have recipes from years ago and Im not sure where they originated but they could be someones Mother's, Grandmas, sisters, aunts, nephews ,3rd cousins but Im not gonna say I made them up -so do we ever post a recipe if we dont even know who came up with it??? Anyone can go on this vast internet and enter just basic searches for recipes using just a word in that recipe how do all those get there without drama? And if its out there for public veiwing then why is it so bad as long as your not selling it as your own. Please anyone feel free to use anything I post Id be honored..

As long as you arnt saying its your then you should be fine if someone ever relizes that its on here and its there if they want it taken off then thats what would have to happen but as long as you are not saying its yours or trying to sell the recipe you will be fine.

Guau! (Spanish Version for WOW!- Don't know who invented it! icon_lol.gif )
I read "her" post yesterday and I'm glad it got deleted, it was totally rude and VERY unprofessional. Besides the fact that her website is very hard to look at (ta' feo!- Spanish for ugly! - I think Christopher Colombus came up with that one icon_rolleyes.gif ) she seems to be very bored and with a lot of time to spare following our forum messages!! I don't like her! icon_razz.gif

To kelleym

Not to be rude but I think this is a great thread for people to become aware with how to post so that way we dont have a problem with this in the future maybe if one of the administrators would like to put the information from this post into a forum annoucement then that would be great. I just dont want a couple of months from now for this to happen again and people that join not know what is going on and post something the wrong way.

I have a question for you.

I also do some crochet in addition to my many other crafts(like cakes). I was once told that it would be illegal for me to use a published pattern exactly as written and sell the item for profit.

A) is this true?

B) if it is then wouldn't that also apply to using published recipes and selling the homemade item?

Or are patterns and recipes "public domain" (like some music)?

Thanks for all you're doing to help us understand the in's and out's of all this stuff!

I do agree that I think this thread has met its purpose. I am not going to delete it, because of the legal information that was presented, but i am going to lock it down.
