Hi Everybody,

Yesterday, I was approached by the owner of a local boardgame retailer about making cookies for client gifts. We batted around a couple of ideas and I wanted to see if any of you had any suggestions. Here is what we talked about:

cookie bouquets, or boxes of cookies - the cookies would be dice, dominoes, Sorry game pieces, a spinner??? Any suggestions??

Or

a large sq cookie decorated to resemble a Monopoly board, packaged in a rigid square box, like a boardgame box.??? any suggestions??

His budget is somewhere between $15 and $20. So I was thinking 6- 3" cookies for the bouquet or 1- 8" sq cookie for the Monopoly board. I figured I could charge the same price for either, because the Monopoly board will be very detailed, the bouquet cookies would be less detailed.

What do you think? I need help. This 20 piece order could turn into 100's.

Thanks.

Cookie ideas: Chutes and Ladders, Trivia pie wedges, Trivial Pursuit game board, checkers board, chess pieces, monopoly money, get out of jail cards.
Hope this helps.

The monopoly board sounds neat but I bet it would take more effort than the other items you listed.

I think I'd do the bouquet if it were me. You could add a sand timer to that list.

I just made dice cookies for my bunco party. I wasn't able to find any cookie cutters - just made a pattern and cut them out with a pizza cutter. Worked pretty good. I saw a copper cookie cutter w/ 3 baby blocks - that would work, too, as dice.

Instead of a very, very detailed monopoly board, maybe you could make some less detailed game pieces instead? For example the more popular pieces people usually like to pick when playing? Maybe use silver colored icing for them? Or perhaps some of the cards or houses?

Game pieces, like pie wedges, would be fun. The Monopoly game board is probably a copyrighted item. They would be a lot of work that might be illegal.

Thanks for the great ideas! I'm torn between making a chess board cookie with chocolate chess pieces and making a cookie bouquet of game pieces! I'll let you know!
