Colors For Snowflake Cookies

I'm going to be doing a basket of winter themed cookies, with a basket that is mainly white with green, red, and yellow colors. The cookies are going to be an angel, bells, and snowflakes. The angel and bells will be mostly red and green, with the angel having yellow wings...lots of white accents. What color would you make the background for the snowflakes? (They'll be done on round cookies). I appreciate any and all comments!

light blue? or a light goldish colour.

I do mine in a light powder blue and white. I usually do white piping on both the blue and white and then brush with luster dust or sprinkle on white sparkles.

white on white or use a very pale blue with white accents.

I think snowflakes can be done in any color...I have done red, sage green, gold, silver....all colors. I like to experiment icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the replies. I usually see snowflakes done with a blue background, but because of the other colors I didn't think it would work with this arrangement. Nice to know that you've done other colors, yankeegal! Your cookies are beautiful.

I've done them with a regal purple background. They came out really pretty. That might go a little more with the colorful background. If not than use a sage green background. That would look really nice too.

I agree - the other colors are more primary than pastel, so I'd go with a darker blue/royal blue background and white sparkly flakes. I think that would look really pretty!

Hi, I think regal purple is the best bet, or the light blue. But if you want to stick to the colors you have, perhaps a pale green would do as well, although I don't think it would look as nice as blue and purple.

You could also do pink, it's similar to red, no? Like Yankeegal said, experiment!
